Who We Are
About Us
Welcome home. We’re so glad that you’ve taken the time to have a peek at our church website. Of course, we’re more than a website, we’re a fellowship of God’s people who love the Lord and seek to serve Him in our community, and this website is part of that outreach. Our journey at Limavady Baptist began with a single step of obedience in 1926 with a small group of people who gathered together to worship, pray, and study God’s Word as a fellowship of kindred minds. In those days we were known as Limavady Baptist Tabernacle. In the weeks and months that followed, that small group had grown into a thriving congregation, and as the church steadily blossomed and grew it moved to a progressively larger premises, but today we still gather together for the exact same reasons. We gather to grow as disciples, and to create an environment where people from all walks of life can ‘taste and see that the LORD is good’ (Psalm 34:8). This has been a God–scripted adventure story for us as a church. We’ve enjoyed the journey and can’t wait to see what God has in store for us in the future!
Our prayer is that even by taking the time to look at this website to find out more about us, and all the activities that are ongoing in our church, that you’ll be encouraged to come and visit us, and you can be certain of a very warm welcome.

Questions
If it’s your first time at Limavady Baptist, you’re our honoured guest. Here are a few frequently asked questions to help you plan your visit:
Is there any parking?
We know traffic is no fun, but we have parking available within the church property, and there’s plenty of free street parking close by, but please be respectful of our neighbours and do not block driveways. In addition, our building is completely wheelchair accessible.
What happens when I get there?
We know visiting a new church can be intimidating, but when you first arrive at Limavady Baptist, you’ll be greeted by new faces that are so excited to see you and your family. When you come for first visit, our deacons will greet you in the lobby and show you where to find the main sanctuary, restrooms, and crèche. If you need anything throughout the services — water, a pillow, a Bible, or a pen — feel free to ask one of our deacons. We’re a friendly bunch and we’d love to serve you.
What do I do with my kids?
Beats us. No, seriously, we have a perfect answer: BRING THEM! In our crèche, toddlers and children experience Jesus on their level. Our crèche is a safe, age–appropriate environment where kids have their own tiny service with Bible–based crafts. Our crèche also has a speaker system where moms and children can listen to the main services together. If you’d feel more comfortable having your kids attend service with you, however, this is also an option. We always have a special time just for children during the service. And we know children tend to wiggle and make noise, so please don’t feel embarrassed.
How long is the service?
A typical Sunday service lasts 60–90 minutes, and we recommend arriving 15 minutes before services begin. We begin by singing worship songs, old and new. While we love hymns, we also provide a blend of newer worship songs that are theologically tested. Then you’ll hear from our pastor or a visiting preacher. Any Sunday you visit will have solid biblical teaching that is Christ–centred and revelatory. To get a feel for our worship and teaching style, check out the latest sermons on our homepage or YouTube channel.
Are animals allowed in services?
Only trained, licensed and harnessed service animals are permitted inside church property in designated areas. Emotional support animals are not permitted.
Will I have to say anything or be singled out in any way?
You can breathe easy, the answer is no! Your level of engagement is completely up to you. We won’t ask you to raise your hand as our guest or do anything that will embarrass you in any way. You don’t even have to sing along if you don’t feel comfortable. And you won’t be expected to give any money. Relax, we don’t bite!
What should I wear?
Our dress code is black tie optional. Just kidding. As far as attire, you’re invited to come as you are, whether it’s a suit or shorts you feel most comfortable wearing. You'll see some dressed up and some dressed casually. Our dress code is simple: wear something.
Can I attend if I’m __________?
Fill in the blank with whatever fear you have about not being accepted: divorced, a single parent, homeless, an addict, an atheist, etc. Limavady Baptist is a church for everyone, everywhere, so no matter where you are in your journey, come as you are and we’ll see you soon!
